February 2, 1954 is an important date for the Austrian music. It’s the day when the great Austrian singer Hansi Hinterseer saw the light of the day for the first time in Kitzbuhel. He then spent his childhood in that impressive alpine environment, one that will play an important role in his future musical career, serving as an inspiration source. Because his father was the famous skier Ernst Hinterseer, little Hansi was raised with a strong affinity for sports. At the age of 14, Hansi became a member of the Austrian National Team. He participated in some of the most important skiing competitions between 1972 and 1977, winning six world cup races. His specialties were both slalom and giant slalom. While taking part at the World Championships in St. Moritz, Hansi managed to win the silver medal, his most remarkable sport result.

You will be able to hear his music at the Hansi Hinterseer 2010 Open Air festival.
