Many new photographers ask how to improve their photography and bring it to “next” level. Among some of the very basic things like understanding basics of exposure, white balance, quality of lights and basic composition rules beginners may consider investing some money in a studio lighting kit. Studio photography is now affordable and it brings great satisfaction. The cool thing of studio photography is that photographer has full control over the environment and light. Today, almost all studio lighting kits have all you need to setup your studio – strobes (moonlights), softboxes, umbrellas, flash triggering kits and backgrounds etc… Of course, it is also important to understand some of the very basic portrait studio lighting techniques like Rembrandt Lighting, Hatchet Lighting and Butterfly Lighting. Nevertheless, don’t forget the most important thing is to get wonderful results and to have fun! As a beginner you can just start experiment with light without following any rules!
